2. Is Windsurfing safe?
Windsurfing is an extreme sport and therefore it can be dangerous but only if you don’t know what you are doing, or if you can’t control your gear in the given conditions. On the other hand, if you know what you are doing and take the right precautions then the risks can be kept under control.

There’s always a possibility that you get yourself in a dangerous situation, you don’t even have to create it yourself but the conditions or the other people on the water can create a hazardous situation. As mentioned before with the right precautions the risks can be brought back to a minimum but there can always happen something unpredicted.

Simply said, enjoy windsurfing at spots and with conditions your gear is caple of handling and never go out if you think you’re not up to the challenge.

And if you are on the water, always look out for others around you, swimmers, stand up paddle boarders, kiteboarders and other windsurfers just to name a few.
3. What is Windsurfing?
Windsurfing is one of the most popular sea sports, combining sea and wind as tools at beautiful beaches. The practice of windsurfing is simply controlling the wind while you are balancing yourself on the water. A windsurfing board is usually attached with a sail called rig connected to it which can move in all directions. The size of the sail changes depending on the windsurfing area and the skills of a windsurfer. It can seem hard at first but it is actually easy to grasp with good windsurfing training.
4. Do I need a lessons?
Absolutely, windsurfing is a technical sport with a steep learning curve. While it is POSSIBLE, to teach yourself or to learn from a friend, many of the techniques are counter-intuitive and are best learned in a lesson.

A proper lesson from an experienced instructor will be fun and will save you loads of time and frustration. In other words, if you purchase new windsurfing equipment, a lesson is a good choice to kick start and ready or sailing.

Think of it like driving lessons, without them, attempting to drive a car down a busy street would probably cause an accident, but with them, the potential danger is dramatically reduced. It’s the same for windsurfing, have lessons, and be in control.
5. Is windsurfing easy to learn?
Windsurfing isn't easy but with a professional lesson on modern beginner equipment you'll be sailing back and forth within an hour. It's not like it used to be. With the new development, it has shortened the learning curve significantly. Now boards are super wide (more stable), short and very stable. The rigs used at the school are lightweight and easy to pick up, so it requires less balance and strength than it did years ago.
6. How long does it take to Learn?
A beginner lesson is 2 to 4 hours and almost everyone is windsurfing on their own before the lesson is over. One lesson gets you a solid foundation in the basics, you may want more lessons as you progress to learn how to use a harness and sail in higher winds. With more practice and lessons you can be advanced rapidly to using a harness, sailing in higher winds, and getting in the foot straps.
7. What should I bring to my windsurfing lessons?
School will provide all the windsurfing equipment required for your lessons.

We recommend the following thing to bring with you:
Waterwear clothing like lycra, boardshort and similar.

Water to stay hydrated, a few nuts and dry fruits or a banana to get some quick energy.
Right attitude! Smile, have fun while larning kiteboarding and be positive! You will learn super quickly!
8. What ages can learn?
Windsurfing is a great sport for people of all ages. The only requirements are that you be comfortable in the water, able to get from a sitting or kneeling position to standing and that you want to learn to windsurf.
9. Do I need a lot of upper body strength to Windsurf?
No, you don’t. Windsurfing has many different balances point, you just need to learn how to balance your body weight against the sail. Lessons are very important, what you lack is the technique that requires your strength. As in most sports technique is everything.
10. What is the youngest age can learn Windsurf?
The minimum age is 10 years old with minimum weight of 50kg. We have small gear just for kids and the program is designed to teach the youngest kids all the skills they will need to start sailing independent. Call us to discuss for kids lesson.
11. Do I need to be a good swimmer to Windsurf?
No, you don’t have to be a good swimmer, but you should be comfortable in the water. We teach you how to hang on to your equipment if you fall. That way you do not lose the board which is your primary floatation device. You always want to stay with your board.
12. Do I keep falling during lesson?
As a beginner, you’re likely to fall in quite a bit. Balancing on the board and attempting to pull up the sail and position yourself whilst understanding wind direction can prove a little tricky at first. If it doesn’t go quite to plan, you’ll be heading for a quick dip!

Falling in means having to climb back on the board and pick up the sail to try again. This can be tiring, but your balance and wind knowledge will be improving all the time and you’ll soon be spending less time in the water and more time on the board.

Don’t worry about falling in, it’s all part of the learning curve and our seawater here is warm, you’ll be wearing a buoyancy aid and you will be taught how to fall safely and get yourself back on the board. Remember, if you don’t fall in you’re probably not trying hard enough, or you have amazing balance and it’s not that windy!
